About
Born in Venezuela and currently based in the United States, Manuel Chinchilla Da Silva truly embodies what it means to be an international businessman operating on a multinational platform.
Across his career, Manuel Chinchilla Da Silva has amassed impressive experience in a number of different industries. Not only is he a seasoned lawyer and oil expert, but he also has extensive industry experience in construction, international contracting, petrochemicals, hydrocarbons, and gas. At just 18 years old, Manuel began his training in geodetic engineering while studying at the University of Zulia in Maracaibo, Venezuela. After graduating, he continued his training as an intern through PDVSA — Petróleos de Venezuela Sociedad Anónima — the nation’s oil & natural gas company. It was while working with PDVSA that Manuel discovered a passion for using unique and innovative strategies to collect and utilize the plant’s natural resources better.
It was this passion that led Manuel Chinchilla Da Silva to found his business, Southern Procurement Services (SPS). Through SPS, Manuel and the entire team are focused on creating and providing the oil and gas industry with key solutions to common problems that run rampant throughout the industry. Having acquired experience and skills in multiple areas of the industry set Manuel apart from others doing the work, and started to gain some attention.
In 2006, before SPS was SPS, Manuel took the first steps into linking his business with the steel and petrochemical industry, supported by fellow businessman Edgar Marshall who was instrumental in expanding the reach that the business has in the market. He believed that the talent he saw in Manuel’s business was unparalleled in the sector, and provided Manuel Chinchilla Da Silva with the resources he needed to open offices for SPS in Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and the United States from 2008 to 2010. Then, after undergoing a company restructure in 2011, Manuel merged his business into the SCZ group, unifying all of the petrochemical and petroleum activities under a single umbrella: SPS. Currently, in addition to Venezuela, SPS also operates within the United States, Jordan, Paraguay, and Mexico.
When it comes to his approach to International Business and Southern Procurement Services, Manuel Chinchilla Da Silva has one clear goal in mind: effectively manage the technical, operational, and human resources that allow maximum productivity and profitability of natural deposits. Through their work and a drive to provide the best service in the industry, they create strategic partnerships with the biggest and the best.
